We are a nationally recognized official Krav Maga Worldwide training facility headed by one of a few 3rd Dan Black Belts issued by the KMWW National Training Center.

 We offer Krav Maga training for San Diego County residents in the only full-time/on-going Krav Maga training center in the County. We have a complete schedule and offer more class times than anyone else.

Krav Maga ("contact combat") is the official defensive tactics system of the Israeli Defense Forces. 

It is considered to be one of the most practical systems of self-defense in the world emphasizing defenses against real attacks.

Krav Maga is simple, aggressive and easy to learn making it the fastest growing form of self-defense in the United States. Krav Maga's Force Training Division trains over 400 Law Enforcement agencies nationwide.


Unlike most martial arts that are formal, ritual-oriented, and difficult to learn, Krav Maga is based on instinctual fight or flight movements and also on natural reflexes.

There is only one rule in Krav Maga: use everything you've got. Krav Maga's emphasis is on simple movements allowing people of all ages and fitness levels to learn real self-defense.

Our main goal is to build self-esteem in our children and enforce the behavior all parents wish to see. We accomplish this by using our tenets in every class plan - Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit and Respect.

Students will be instructed in a strict but fun learning environment to stimulate learning while providing a great exercise program for kids.

Comprised of a mixture of martial arts, MMA Academy's children’s program using training methodologies from Boxing, Taekwondo, Judo, Grappling and Krav Maga for a well-rounded martial arts program!

 

In addition to these disciplines, structure and life-lessons are incorporating values all parents instill in their children; Respect, Being Polite, Participation and Team-work.

 

MMA Academy has instructed thousands of children of the last 25 years and has had many students begin at age 6 and train until they go off to college. Some even returned to train as adults!

Children's Martial Arts

MMA Academy's "MMA Fit" and Monkey Bar Gym classes are designed to complement our Krav Maga Self Defense program or bring a fresh, stand-alone experience to the total body workout.

MMA Bag Cardio - This rhythmically based class of continuous movement utilizing basic Krav Maga combatives in order to stress the cardio respiratory and cardiovascular system. Within the warm up, an emphasis is placed on basic yoga poses that increase one’s balance, strength, and flexibility.

MMA Bag & Conditioning - Integration between strength training exercises and bag work, focus mitt, and/or Thai pad training, these classes are designed to increase student’s power and performance. Medicine balls, kettle bells, plyometric skills and more to are used build and increase functional strength, stamina and agility. Gloves are required for this class.

Focus Mit This class is for someone who is familiar with striking and holding focus mits/thai pads. This class combines calisthenics while refining striking combinations with focus mit training into one fast paced class. An emphasis is placed on interval training throughout the duration of class to stress cardiovascular strength.  Class concludes with core training and/or a stretch segment. *Boxing gloves or bag gloves are required

Sport Circuit - Circuit class is designed to work on all components of athletic skill.  This class is done in a station format.  Each station has different exercises and drills that increase balance, coordination, agility, speed, power, and flexibility.  There is a large focus on core stability and strength.
